  1. I want to establish a link to a new page like:

    www.xxxxxxx.com/special

To do this do I need a sub-domain? If so, once I set up the subdomain would it be called "special?" Then, would I put a file in that sub-directory (folder) called index.htm?

    Thanks...Dan

  2. a subdomain would be something like special.xxxxxxxx.com, www.xxxxxx.com/special would just be a sub-directory. You can place any file in this subdirectory. If you want a certain file to come up as the default document, you can set your default document in your control panel.

  3. Thanks Joel .... I see the difference now. I was confusing sub-domain and sub-directory.

  4. Another question along those lines .... Can I create my own sub-directory on discountasp.com or do I need to request that? Is there any additional charge?

    Thanks...Dan

  7. Hey,

Building on this topic is it possible to have a sub domain on a normal account (http://blog.the-renegade.co.uk/ for example) or would i have to purchase an addon for this?

    Thanks for any help
