  1. I apologize if this is in the wromg forum or if it has been answered before. Iadded thesubdomain option to my hosting plan for gamesandchips.com and I know that there are ASP scripts to redirect traffic coming to my subdomains to a sepcific directory or file. I was under the assumption that I could specify a name for my subdomain on the control panel. The main reason I want to do that is for SEO. I have seen some google search results showing subdomains(ie subdomain.domain.com) and was wondering how that is possible if I do not provide a subdomain name on the control panel. Is that a feature that is different from subdomains?

    Any help would be appreciated.

Once you have the addon, *.yourdomain.com will resolve to your website.

  3. Thank you for the reply Bruce, but I guess my main question is how do search engines index it if the address is not specified from before? If you do a search for Poker Chips on Yahoo the 7th result is pokerchips.greatnow.com and I was trying to figure out how to use subdomains to get that result for myself

You'll have to put some relevant content at the subdomain, eg pokerchips.greatnow.com. You can programically redirect any specific subdomain to a subdirectory to place relevant content. See our knowledge base for sample code.
