  1. Howdy bro,
I can assure you this is nothing to do with the DASP services.

    From my home....
*On XP Pro SP3 I'm connecting to SQL Server 2005 here from SQL Server 2008 Express.
*With Vista SP1,successfully connecting to SQL Server 2005 from SQL Server 2008.

My guess is, and I agree it is somewhat confusing, the network accounts you chose during setup.

I'll dig into this for you today. [IMG]

  2. ever since I deleted client sql server 2005 express I can't connect to my DASP sql server 2005 account anymore.

I tried to connect with my VWD 2005 express ed.in 'database explorer' server type:
database engine____, server name_____, authentication____, with errors!!!

I then tried with my new sql server express 2008 w/advanced services and still could not connect. It only connects to my local server can'tconfigurethis client to log into my DASP sql server 2005 acct.

I was told both VWD 2005 and sql server express 2008 will access my DASP server 2005 account. Can someone help me connect to myserver need to up-load a .MDF or a .BAK file.

I also can use the DASP tool kit backup file (.BAK) up-loadbut using this methodI was told I would have to convert the file before I up-loaded.

I have a copy of DTS wizard.

I really do needhelp soon,I fear I'll have to go to another hosting service to getbetter coaching and support.

  3. I managed to connect to my database but I getthe followingerror:

Then I right clicked on + node associated with database object folder to attach and get a screen that is empty so do I drag the single MDF object file into this screen?

Then I noticed a security feature whereI can run a checker on theMDF I want to up-load instuctions say I should first check MDF before I up-load MDF:
"We recommend that you do not attach or restore databases from unknown or untrusted sources. Such databases could contain malicious code that might execute unintended Transact-SQL code or cause errors by modifying the schema or the physical database structure. Before you use a database from an unknown or untrusted source, run DBCC CHECKDB on the database on a nonproduction server and also examine the code, such as stored procedures or other user-defined code, in the database."

Where is this DBCC CHECK DB located?
Oh wow... this is super complex no wonder no one wants to touch db computing.
