  1. I have the same problem - my credentials are not accepted neither via VS nor directly to htpps://rs.discountasp.net/reportsserver. Any domain I do not know? Also othing to break through in KB.
Not clear what to set as [primary_account_login]. My domain url?
[*]Set TargetFolder to your folder name to reports [primary_account_login]/reports
    Thanks

OK.. This is how RS works

    1) the username / password is different from your primary account login. it should be included in the welcome email. DO NOT use your account login to access RS.

    2) To segregate each user's report space, we setup different folders for each use. We choose your primary account username as the path name. ie.

[primary_account_login] is the username you used to login to the control panel.

  3. hi bruce et al.

i've been trying my hardest to follow your [sparse] kb articles but although i follow the steps in
http://kb.discountasp.net/article.aspx?id=10310exactly my account username / password will not satisfy the uid/pwd prompt that comes up. i can also not log in directly to rs.discountasp.net (not sure if i should be able to, but the deploy should work).

i've scoured the forums, the kb, the internet in general, and this thing is about to drive me insane with a big demo scheduled thurs. please someone help! oh and it would be really nice if you could add some non-one-liner kb articles... 10310 is ok but the others are basically not really helpful. once i get this working i will be happy to contribute to a tutorial or something.

    thanks,
    gunni

  4. Bruce,

I did NOT get any other user name and password than for my domain in welcome mail. It is only ONE set.

When I subscribed for SQL Server I got another User Name, but the same password.

It is unclear what name to use: for site or for database? Should it be another set for SQL RS?

    Thanks

  6. Bruce,

The issue happened to be simple.

I did not realize that SQL Reporting services is and Add-on option you have to buy separately.

In other words I just do NOT have this service and that is why is not recognized.

    Thanks
