I found my DNN site extremely slow and DAN support agent suggested to upgrade it to IIS7. Of course, I don't want to reinstall DNN and rewrite my site from scratch. The support agent said that after the migration, I don't have to reinstall DNN but I have to reconfigure my site although he does not know anything about it. So my question is this. What do I need to do on my DNN after the migration? Any hint or comment would be also appreciated. Thanks
Not a problem I just migrated my platform to Win 2008/IIS 7. I was afraid that I might spend huge amount of time to recover my site. But to my surprise, my DNN site is now working great just after: 1. waiting until my domain was reconnected to new host. I think it took about 30-60 mins, 2. deleting index.htm file in root directory that was created by starting the migration, 3. resetting asp.net applications in control panel (if you have multiple asp.net applications other than root directory) Of course, new DNN site is running a lot faster. It feels like 2-3 times faster than IIS 6. I strongly recommend this migration for DNN sites.
Wow, sounds good. Thanks for the follow up. DNN likes memory, so with twice as much memory available on IIS7, it makes sense that it is running better for you.
