  1. I have not found a way to be able to connect VS2005 directly to the Report Server to facilitate a simple method of creating Reports. The Report Manager does not offer a robust tool for creating reports with ANY complexity. If I set up a new Project in VS2005, I am unable to deploy to DASP RS. If I use the UPLOAD feature of the Report Manger on DASP to upload a report I created in VS2005, it tells me the Datasource is not available.

I have searched the KB and Forums. I have not found anything that solves my dilemma.

    Thanks!

    Steve

  2. Hi,
The SQL Server Reports have come up a lot lately.
Did you take a look at the links at the bottom of this page?
    http://kb.discountasp.net/article.aspx?id=10492

As for Visual Studio 2005, I haven't seen anyone doing the reports from within VS2005.
Not saying it can't be done, just that I've only seen methods for the Report Builder and Report Designer.
Both of those are covered here:
    http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms159253.aspx

    And many more tutorials here:

    Salute,
    Mark
