  1. Hi guys,

This may be a silly question - but can I create 'virtual directories' in my domain?

My web application uses virtual directories to identify the user (all pointing to the same actual directory). For example:

    http://www.thisismywebsite.com/user1
    http://www.thisismywebsite.com/user2

    ...would both point to:

    http://www.thisismywebsite.com/entrypoint (calling Default.aspx)

and then the web application uses the URL segment (user1 or user2) to identify the user and show relevant content.

I know I can create applications, but I would prefer to just use a virtual directory without an application.

    Thanks in advance!

we do not expose such function in the control panel because VDir is really not useful under most circumstance in shared hosting environment. VDir is designed to point to a location outside of the website root and it gets really confusion if you create virtual dir within the site

If you need vDir, you'll have to contact support and we can manually set them up for you.
