  1. I just installed Visual Studio 2008 and all my DASP websites take up to an hour to load. I'm opening by choosing a "Remote Website" (as opposed to FTP, Local IIS or File System).
I can open other non-DASP siteswithout delay which precludes me from reinstalling VS2008. Any clues? Thanks.

  2. Hi,
Doing it that way is very slow.

    Here's what I recommend:
    1. Create an empty folder on your system somewhere.
    2. Open VS2008.
    3. Create a new Blank Website, not an Application.
    4. Use the Copy Website tool and sync with your remote site.
Pull everything from the remote site into that empty folder.
    5. From then on use your local copy and connect to the remote site when needed.

  3. Thanks for your reply.
I have several work locations (using a differnt workstation at each location) and need to be able to modify this site at leastdaily.
Will the local development solution work in my situation or introduce sync problems? Thanks again.
PS Why is this so slow on DASP sites but not on other hosting companies?

  4. That is the method many developers use to sync with remote sites.
If you just need to make a few changes you may want to look into a site file manager.
I've tested a very good one on DASP servers, that is free, and can edit any pages, even create new.
If it seem slower on your DASP site you may want to run a trace route.
My connections to DASP got a lot better once I changed to an open DNS.
