  1. Hi all,

I am having a hosting on discountasp.net and would like to know whether Access 2007 database is OK for a small business website. (I want to save on cost of SQL hosting).

  2. Hi,
For the most part it works fine with both ASP.NET and Classic ASP on Windows Server 2003.
I used it for things like Shoutbox's and other high spam submissions to keep things separate from my SQL Server.
    Never had any trouble.
One thing Bruce pointed out is the embedded passwords security in Access 2007 doesn't work well.
That was never a problem for me since DASP provides a secure folder _database for us to use.
With a lot of people trying to hack my Access DBs it never happened.

If you can't afford SQL Server I'd recommend you give Access a go.
    Salute,
    Mark

Access can perform perfectly well on a small scale, but bear in mind though that it was never really meant to be used for web applications. If you start to put a lot of stress on it, the shortcomings will become apparent.

I only offer that up as a caveat because we commonly have to point people toward SQL when their sites become more heavily trafficked and basically "outgrow" Access.
