  1. I recently acquired a website here at discountasp.net written in ASP.NET with a MS SQL 2000 database. Unfortunately I am clueless in this language and have tryed everything possible to try and export my MS SQL 2000 database to try and work on it. Although I tryed numerous ways to export this my latest adventure involves installing the .NET Framework 2.0 on my computer, downloading SQL Server Management Studio Express and MS SQL Server 2005 Express Edition. I was able to connect to the database using SQL Server management Studio Express and I went into it and requested that it make a backup. It says it was successful and that it backed it up to my d:/SQL Server Management Studio folder on my D drive. I am a technology coordinator and I can assure you that the file is not on my local d: drive. Does this program save the file to the hosting service? I have heard that I do not want to backup and restore the database due to frequent errors. Can someone tell me an easy way to export this database?
    Thanks

  3. What most likely happened is that the backup was created in the remote SQL server. To backup your SQL 2000 database, go to the MS SQL 2000 section of your DiscountASP control panel. There you will find the SQL Tools where you can create backups that will be saved on your site.
