With the announcement that WCF is live http://wcf.netfx3.com/blogs/news_and_announcements/archive/2006/11/08/We_2700_re-done.-WCF-is-live.-.aspxwill discountasp.net soon be providing support to host WCF based services on customer accounts? Thank you Ron Young
I don't believe WCF is designed to run in a shared environment. Joel Thoms DiscountASP.NET http://www.DiscountASP.NET
I'm not sure I follow you on this. It's not possible to say, create a new WCF Service web site in Visual Studio and deploy it to our discountasp.net hosted sites if the servers have the .NET Framework 3.0 installed? So that client applications can access http://mysite.com/myservice.svc?wsdl to generate the client proxy? Ron
Currently we do not have .NET Framework 3.0 installed on our webservers. Our team is evaluation and testing .NET Framework 3.0. We will certainly make announcements if we plan to install .NET Framework 3.0. Eric DiscountASP.NET http://wwwDiscountASP.NET
Does anyone has any simple application that you've built w/ WCF? We want to perform some test but could find anything decent. Bruce DiscountASP.NET www.DiscountASP.NET
If? Don't you mean WHEN you install the 3.0 Framework? You guys are usually ahead of the curve with these things. I'm surprised you haven't got it up already.
Yes, we will let customers know when we have .NET Framework 3.0 available. Our team did not prioritze .NET 3.0 hosting because wewere working onIIS7 beta hosting andbecause .NET Framework 3.0is ASP.NET 2.0 with some extra stuff. Were it ASP.NET 3.0, then we would definitely have been on top of it. Eric DiscountASP.NET http://www.DiscountASP.NET
Yes, .NET Framework 3.0 is already on our servers. We made that announcement back in January. Check out the News Announcement section of the forum for the latest product launches. Eric DiscountASP.NET http://www.DiscountASP.NET
