  1. Is there a way you can give us the URL so we can see it on our end. Sounds like the domain name is not resolving to the correct server.

    DiscountASP.NET
    www.DiscountASP.NET

  2. Hello,

I'm trying to get a Dot Net Nuke application up and running. I've done it before. It's pretty straight forward, but for some reason, on my first attempt to set up an Application virtual directory in the web application tool for my site, I can't get beyond a 404 file or directory not found.

    https://my.discountasp.net/webapplication-tool.aspx

(I installed my app with this utility) I even recycled my app pool to be sure it was seen.

To simplify things, I added a "hello world" test.html page to this directory and called it directly in the URL (not relying on default pages). Same 404 result.

    Am I doing something dumb?

Note: I haven't changed my domain to point to Discountasp.net yet. I am calling my site through my alternate URL. I can see why DNN might not like this (it installs and maps URL to the Portal space), but my simple Test.html page call suggests a fundamental problem with my setup.

    thanks for your advice.

  3. hi,

    thanks for replying.

I am still having the same problem.

    here's the info you requested:

I have a web app virtual directory 3 levels down from root. \apps\dnn\mydnn

    my alternative URL is: http://glnmmorg000.web151.discountasp.net

I do not have my registered domain pointing to ASPDiscount.net yet (until my site is developed/tested).

so, the url I am trying to call is:

    http://glnmmorg000.web151.discountasp.net/mydnn/

as mentioned before, to simplify my test, I have created a basic html test page. I can't reach this either for some reason.

    http://glnmmorg000.web151.discountasp.net/mydnn/test.html

    thank you for your help.

    Dave
