  1. I am not able to understand why iam not able to view the pages in "web application tool" . It is not clear what we have to do with "Install application" when i click each folder. Any help..

  2. Hi,
Yes the root is an application by default.
The Tree feature allows you to create additional applications for other folders as needed.
This helps with things like sessions, even for Classic ASP, not just ASP.NET.
I've found it does help things like login sessions for the classic ASP Snitz forums.
    All the best,

  3. i want to know why we are not able to see the aspx pages in the root folder or in any folder we are not able to see the cs or ascx controls. why it is so? is it a default behaviour. pls help

  4. The web application tool inside the control panel was not meant to be a form of file manager. It is simply a way to set subdirectories as application folders.

  5. in my application i have the default.aspx in the root folder and not in any sub folder . do i have to make any changes?

Futher i did not understand what do u mean by application folders. Please clarify ..

  6. ...The default page in the root of your site is within the default site app.

Search MSDN for definitions of Web Application Projects, if you are using them in VS.

  7. In simple terms what i have understood if the default.aspx comes in some folder other than the root folder then we need to use "Install application" button or if the default.aspx comes in the root folder then we dont have to do any changes..

  8. Is this the only site you have. I think there was another community thread with similar issues. What I believe you maybe doing is uploading your website to a subfolder and there is nothing in the root except the subfolders. If you may want to upload your site to the root instead of a subfolder.
