  3. Howdy,

    Firstly, apologies if this is looks like such a newb query but hey, that's what forums are for!!! [IMG]

    I have a small problem hopefully someone can help me fix. Basically, I have recently uploaded my web project via FTP. I deleted the default index.htm file as mentioned on the default discountasp popup page (the one that tells you your website is up and running). My startup page is set to index.aspx in my project.

    Now here's the prob..... when i enter in my address in IE..... www.seaside-escape.com it loaded fine the first time (not always so). When I closed IE and reloaded the page it redirected me to the initial discountasp page where it tells you that your account is working successfully. Now instead of it saying you can delete index.htm, it now says you can delete index.aspx...... strange!!!

    I've tried this on different pc's and it's doing the same. I've checked the default docs settings and it looks fine. Do i need to write code in the global.asax file to point to the startup page? I might as well mention that some occasions i even get an error saying that customerror setting in the web.config file needs to be changed. I take it I just have to create my own error page and link it in the control panel for the site.

    Anyway, if anyone has any ideas........ don't be shy!!!!!!
    Thanks in advance!

    I have checked also the site and the link on http://whois.domaintools.com/seaside-escape.com</o:p>
    It works normally, fine.</o:p>
    Maybe, that is not a problem concerning your application.</o:p>
    Do you have other web applications? When yes, check how they are working.</o:p>
    When not, write a new, small test application and check its behaviour.</o:p>
    </o:p>

    I would go in and make sure the default page created by the site setup is removed (the name should be either index.htm or index.aspx)

  7. Thanks for all the help and looking into it everyone. I haven't had much time to post a reply earlier.

    I am getting mixed reports regarding this from a few of my friends. Some say it works everytime, and some say they have to add the /index.aspx reference at the end of the URL string. For myself, I still get the error when i type in www.seaside-escape.com however when I type in seaside-escape.comit works fine. I'm pretty confused by this so if anyone has any ideas, please say so.

    Oh yes, I even did a domain search for the site at http://whois.domaintools.com/seaside-escape.comand when I click on the link to view the site, it goes to the default discountasp.netpage that says your page is up and running?!? The thing is thatthe link tomysite ondomaintools.com actually displays the title of mystart page which to me suggests that the page should be loading fine.

    Would the browser cache/history perhaps be affecting this?

  8. Seems like it's all sorted out now. I cleared my brower history and now it's loading up fine. /emoticons/lol.gif Thanks for trying to help!
