Hi, I was reading about Google PageSpeed which has been around a while and is now depreciated by Google. And I saw this product https://www.iiswebspeed.com/ (https://www.iis.net/downloads/community/2013/05/iispeed). Is this something you know anything about or have ever considered putting on your IIS servers or is it unnecessary and over hyped? Just wondering. Will
We never considered that. Did anyone? Google doesn't keep anything alive long enough to adopt it. But then you could say the same for a lot of Microsoft products that they hyped, launched and quickly abandoned. Generally speaking we stick with what comes down the pipe from Microsoft, it just makes for easier maintenance and better consistency from server to server. Maintaining a lot of third party or open source modules or plugins on a single server is hard enough, but when you scale out to a roomful of servers it becomes...problematic. To put it mildly.
