When do you need unlimted subdomain option?

    As the title says. When do you need this extra option?

    I want to be able to have several subdomains (don't yet know how many) like foo1.bar.com, foo2.bar.com on my domain bar.com. In my application I need to redirect visitors of foo1 and foo2 to their own homepage.

    Can this be done without the unlimited option? If so, do I add the subdomains as CNAME or A-records. I've tried to add an A record but get the error: Shared IP Address cannot be used for this A Record

    If it turns out I need the unlimited option for this, it means I DOUBLE the monthly fee for this hosting plan. Think I have to reconsider my options then (still in 30 day money back period)...

    Hello Vincent,

    Yes, you will need to order the Unlimited Subdomains addon. It will give you the unique IP so that you may add the A records for the subdomains.

    I know we need a Webcast for this.
    It is a nice feature and very good for sites that have a blog.
