The Admin contact info in the Account Info section is not used for whois information.

In the order form, you were asked if you wanted to use the same Admin Contact infoas your domain/whois contact or if you want to provide different contact info.

However, you can update your Domain/Whois contact at any time. For domains registered through us, you can update your domain contact info (whois info) in the control panel in the Domain Manager section. Note that it will take a couple days for the new contact information to make it into the central dns.

Updating your contact info in the Account Info section will not make any updates to the whois database.

  2. Hello,

I would be immensley grateful if anyone can help.

If someone does a whois search on my website, which I have purchased through discountasp, you can see the address and phone number of my home. I do not really feel safe with people having access to this information.

I paid for the website through my credit card and had to put in my home contact details for the billing. I am sure I put in a different address for contact details.

I have tried changing the address in the Account Info/Editsetting. I am able to save the changes but when I do a whois search, my home address and phone number still comes up. Can anyone help?

    Thank you in advance.

    Alan

  3. Hi,
Contact Support from your Control Panel.

DASP is not in the domain business, that's just something they offer as a feature to make it easier.

In the future I'd suggest you host your domains with someone who specializes in them.

Bruce at DASP suggested to me a long time ago to use GoDaddy for my domains here and it has worked out perfectly.
I can change anything I want, take the domain off-line, even transfer or sell them.

Not long ago I donated one of my game programming SDK sites to a college in Canada.
They had their own server, hosting the sites domains with GoDaddy made it easy for me to make the move.

Note: I'd never host with GoDaddy but they do offer awesome domain name features.
    Salute,
    Mark

  4. Thank you very much Wisemx and Eric.

Using Godaddy it way too complicated for me I am afraid. I much prefer doing everything in one simple step using DASP.

I will try as as Eric kindly suggested.

    Thanks again.
