Why I Hate GoDaddy

Just incase anyone is interested in GoDaddy, think twice!!!!!!!!

I just open a "deluxe" account with them to store my large media files (video, audio, etc...) since there server disk space is so cheap. Little did I know that the web application I built for it won't work because GoDaddy does not support asp.net users to upload files.

Quote: We do not provide customer scripting support for .net applications or html code in your website. Below is a link to a help article the outlines the enabled objects on your hosting account.

So I go to the HELP page to learn more about the ASPUpload object they provide, and find out .that their .NET 2.0 medium trust environment does not support any of the provided asp objects.

This is the only reason I am 100000% thinking to get off from godaddy.com

my website deals2fly.net had a function to upload a file.

I have already taken a loan for the website, and the interest meter is ticking and still the website is not up from 3 months because of the beaurocracy at godaddy

Whenever I call their customer support all they say is we dont help with scripting. I tried to override the security file and it says cannot override.

Then I asked them a simple question can I upload a file from my website with a tool I create, customer service professional says
"Yes sir you can do that"
I say "I am delighted to hear that, can you please tell me how to do that"
he says
"Ohh I am sorry sir we dont help with scripting and thats why I cannot tell you"
I said
"Do you know due to this reason I am already 1 month late, because 1 month ago I had the same problem with database when I was using ado.net and the medium trust forced me to use SqlClient, now you didnt tell me that either at that time.... It was me who had to figure out what the problem was and more tedious task, what the solution is"
Him : " he pauses for a second, and says still I am sorry"
ME : I might be leaving and moving to other webhosting due to this.
Him : Is there anything I can help you with

I was just surprised to hear, that statement. he didnt had any regret, even when I said that " I might leave and join someone else".
So I started to venture out and first I find is this site.....
It looks good.. I am just awaiting the decision from my partners and then I can host here....

But it was really really bad experience.

 

The only good news about godaddy is they're cheap...
The one main negative sideis, they're cheap.
