Windows 2008/IIS 7 web server update (URL Rewrite module) completed?

Discussion in 'Windows / IIS' started by rickasp, Mar 26, 2010.

  1. The status of this server update is marked 'completed', but when I login with IIS manager I do not get a message to download the new URL rewrite module (and the old URL rewrite module is still there).

New rewrite rules are not reconized
    (HTTP Error 500.50 - URL Rewrite Module Error. / trackAllCaptures="false" )

My site is on eweb701, do I have to manually activate it somewhere?

I'll check on that for you. I'm not sure if the UK servers were updated, though I was informed that all IIS 7 servers would be.

Well, it was installed on eweb701. An admin is going to check the installation.

You're right, there was a problem with eweb701. Sorry about that.

They are going to re-run the installation this afternoon, so check it again later this evening (Pacific time).

  5. no problem, functional it seems to work now (through web.config) but the URL rewrite module is not visible in IIS manager.

Have you logged out of IIS Manager and logged back in? You should be prompted to download a new plugin that will make the URLRewrite 2.0 available in IIS Manager...

If you have logged out/logged in and are still having an issue I can have the admins take another look at it.

The problem seems to be a UI display issue.

We made some changes to the server and it should work now.

  8. yes great works now. thanks.
