  1. I'd like to access my SQL 2005 database from a Windows Mobile app. I currently use Merge Replication via SQLServerCE on my desktop server and hoping to host commercially. DiscountASP has indicated that they don't support this. I thought this and RDA were quite common for Smart Client development.

Any workarounds / ideas? Is this something that I can pay extra for? I think I read that the server agent should/could be on a different server than the SQL Server / backend database. Not sure if this would be allowed.

As an alternative, I can use RDA but not sure if even that is supported.

Any ideas / direction would be much appreciated.

  2. FYI, here is a response I received from discountasp presales... (anyone else looking for such capabilities?).

This seems to be the recommended technique in most mobile development books on the Compact Framework or SQLServerCE.

Just curious what technologies others are using in windows mobile apps. (specifically smart client apps not mobile web apps).

Please advise or recommend alternative techniques.
