Wordpress and remote mysql server

    Hi,
    I'm trying to get wordpress working on my a/c, but get this error when trying to run the install.

    Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress.

    I'm trying to connect to a remote mysql server.
    I'm on a windows 2008 server.
