xp_sendmail

    xp_sendmail is not supported on our server.

    due to security issues, we do not allow emailing from our sql server.

    Hi,

    SQL Server 2000T-SQL normally supports the extended procedure "xp_sendmail".
    However this one comes from the master DB.

    Why is there no exec permission on the stored procs located in the master? Not all of them of course, but only the ones frequently used that do no harm to the master DB (such as the xp_sendmail)?
