Real-time Media Streaming

  1. DiscountASP notes it supports HTTP A/V Streaming.

    What about streaming in real-time?

What I mean by real-time is that the webapplication streams based on an incoming feed from a client using the website and streams it to the appropriate other client usingthe website?

If its not supported anyone know of a good discount streaming host?

  3. Thanks for your response Eric.

So, given that DiscountASP doesn't support it; are there any customers on DiscountASP.net who have implemented real-time streaming by linking in the service from another provider?

Any other options available outside of changing hosts?

sorry i am not aware of any host that specialized on this type of hosting. Most people have their own streaming server if they need to send live feed.

  5. I've used that service with Interland, which is now www.web.com, and still offers real-time media streaming servers, but as you can guess it's a bit costly.

For my likes the streaming is still possible here at DASP via Camtasia Studio but of course the visitor will have to D/L more of the media source.

I had one of Scott's Atlas videos streaming here with the new Flash options in Camtasia Studio via ASP.NET and it worked great for everyone.
Not like a true media streaming server but nearly as good in every respect.
