  1. Hello,

I am currently trying to reconcile my dasp.net MX records for use with Gmail services. I submitted a ticket and was sent to this thread by the support guy: http://community.discountasp.net/showthread.php?t=5892

However, that does not answer my question. The control panel does not want to accept the mx records Google gives me. When I try to enter them, I end up with the an error message stating that the domain is invalid.

Am I missing something completely obvious?

  2. Problem solved--apparently dasp.net does not require the trailing dot. Remove it from each entry on Google's MX records list and success.

  3. New problem configuring Gmail... I've got the MX setup all taken care of, and it's working through the default Gmail portal. I attempted to set up a custom URL by adding a new CNAME entry of mailbox.mydomain.com --however, when I type that address into my URL bar it bounces me back to my homepage, instead of forwarding to the default Gmail portal.
I did delete an entry of *.domain.com from the A record manager list, which appeared to bounce all *.domain.com entries to the homepage, but that doesn't seem to have solved the problem. Any suggestions?

You can set up mail.yourdomain.com by following the tips in those other threads (because the mail. subdomain already exists so it's there for you to edit). If you want some other subdomain you'll have to add on the subdomain/unique IP bundle in Control Panel.

  5. I have a similar problem. The emails are getting bounced. I'm able to login to my google app and send email, but cannot receive emails on my user@mydomain email id, i've set up the MX record as suggested and have disabled the email @ Discountasp.net.

    Please help.

    Appreciate your response for this.

    Thanks,
    Joe
