IISRewrite

I want to use IISRewrite to reconstruct some of my page URLs so that they do not contain a query string (i.e. "http://www.somesite.com/realestateagent.asp?id=124873"). However, the IISRewrite tool requires that a new ISAPI filter be installed in IIS. Does DiscountASP.NET allow for this kind of configuration? If so, how?

 

I found a great add-in called SES - Search engine safe urls.

No discountasp intervention required...

 

I find it hard to believe that the IISrewrite functionality is not present in the DiscountASP offering.... I wouldthink this type of functionality is common place.

Does any one know of another way to get this functionality ? I'm trying to use it forSEO purposes ... I have Part numbers that I'd like to be searchable through Google ...

Some how my site was indexed by its alternate url address at discountasp.net.

The addressreads something like, myusername.web144.discountasp.net

Can a rewrite be scripted so any request for the alternate address is configured to use the domain name and notdiscount asp's alternateaddress?

I want to remove the alternate url address from the search engines and create a script that redirects the page request from the search engines to their respective domain name page from the alternate address given as their web space at discountasp.net.

So, that, myusername.web144.discountasp.net/product1.aspx

would become

mywebsite.com/product1.aspx

Is ISAPI still not supported by DiscountAsp? The above link http://community.discountasp.net/def...f=5&m=9333 from Bruce is not working.

I would like to do URL rewrite for SEO, if ISAPI is not supported then could you please advice an alternative.

Thanks Eric for your quick response. How can we move to Windows 2008 platform? Please advice what is involved. We are currently using DiscountAsp's Windows 2003 - IIS 6.0 server.
