apparently a new feature of ms sql 2014 is the ability to backup to azure blob storage. since i'm thinking of having a larger database there can i backup my dasp sql server 2014 database to the azure blob storage? has anyone tried that?
From what i understand, this involves making changes to the SQL server to support it. We have not tested.
here's some info about it - it would be nice to be able to use backup to url feature on my sql 2014 discount asp.net database to have it backup to azure https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn449496.aspx https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn435916.aspx https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn449491.aspx http://blogs.technet.com/b/dataplat...ore-enhancements-in-sql-server-2014-ctp2.aspx http://blogs.technet.com/b/dataplat...ql-server-backup-to-microsoft-azure-tool.aspx
haven't heard back - are they thinking of allowing support for this? it would help me able to create a much easier backup than using the discount asp.net api etc.
I think we can activate that for Managed SQL over at Everleap, but let me check to make sure. I know they were running some tests a while back...
