switching from ASP.Net to HTML/Javascript

Discussion in 'General troubleshooting' started by SteveAltman, Jul 15, 2018.

  1. Hi,

I thought this would be easier...

I've had a site here for about 15 years. In need of an update, I've redone the site, but without using ASP.Net - just HTML/JavaScript, etc. I've been testing it in a subdirectory of my site and everything works perfectly. But when I tried to create a new default.htm in the root - basically a placeholder alerting visitors that the site was undergoing update - the server can't "see" the new file.

Obviously, there's something I'm missing about this kind of change. Can someone here point me in the right direction? I hesitate to create a ticket with support, but perhaps that is what's necessary.

    Thanks for any help

There is a rank order for the Default Document. You can change the order through IIS Manager or remove the other default documents. Also, make sure you're not see a cache. Hit CTRL-F5 to refresh your browser.
