Apparent 100 MB file size limit FTP Smooth Streaming?

Discussion in 'Silverlight' started by Polybius, Apr 14, 2011.

  1. My Smooth Streaming stuff here at DiscountASP.NET has been working great.

    For reference:

Today I'm uploading a new test video, somewhat akin to Big Buck Bunny.

The entire file set of 9 files is 655 MB. I use FTP to upload them to my DASP site, as usual. But two of the 9 files each exceed 100 MB. One is 124 MB and the other is 170 MB. When I try to upload either of them, I get this message:

Does anybody know how to increase the FTP file size limit from 100 up to 200 MB?

Thanks in advance. Any help will be appreciated.

  2. This thread is a very low priority. I've decided I can live with lower resolution in my Smooth Streaming, thus obviating the need for the larger files.

But sooner or later others will probably begin to run into this limit.

    Thanks.

  3. ...Sorry about that. I use Expression Web v4 to publish my Streaming files.
    It handles them very well.

I took a quick look at your account and you just need to adjust your User Quota. You are running into the 100 MB limit because you are using 400 MB out of 500 MB of your quota.

  5. wisemx - Thanks for the tip on Expression Web.

Tasslehoff - Adjusting the User Quota solved it. Many thanks.

    DiscountASP.NET is a great place.

  6. Cool. btw, Expression Web v4 allows you to upload multiple files at once.
It knocks the pants off Visual Studio. ;-)
